POSITION: Art Director
SALARY: $110k - $120k + super

START: ASAP
HOURS: Full-time, 9.00am - 5.30pm
WHERE: Sydney’s Inner West (3 days onsite, 2 days home)

BRANDS:  Fashion, beauty, alcohol, lifestyle & sporting apparel
CLIENT:  A brand experience studio looking for a highly conceptual, experiential Art Director to work across multiple brands and campaigns

POSITION OVERVIEW
The objective of the Art Director is to ensure that the creative and design output across both internal and external brands, events, content and marketing is inline with the Studio’s brand and level of excellence, whilst ensuring effective creative solutions for all projects are up to date with current and projected trends within art, design and industry.
You’ll liaise with internal teams ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept up to date with the project status, key developments and requirements through every stage, from concept ideation through to final execution across the board.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

  • Creative output, ensuring creative solutions are effective, ideas are original and have wider industry knowledge to ensure best-in-class work

  • Thought leading on creative concepts, direction, and tone to drive the best project output

  • Formulates art concepts and executes project decks

  • Art direction and creation of assets required for all marketing and brand collateral

  • Constantly improving the processes, efficiencies and creative output of the creative team

  • Work with minimal supervision and demonstrate an ability to make important decisions on all issues relevant to the production and implementation of the creative work

  • Confidently present work and meet with clients of all levels

  • Take hands-on responsibility for project delivery and proactively take an interest in quality of care and seeing work through to the fi nal delivery phases – where appropriate commissioning specialists with your producer, such as artists, illustrators and photographers, to work on projects

  • Understanding budget costs and in collaboration with the producer ensuring the creative output is inline with the budget restrictions

  • Where required, design of graphics and design packs ready for production (print and digital artwork)

  • Attend client meetings and briefs

  • Assist on bump in and bump out of projects

  • Attend team brainstorming, creative and brand sessions

  • Assist in the development of new client relationships and new business opportunities

  • Work closely with Lead Designers, Producers and Tech leads to bring all event elements to life

  • Ensuring the art direction of projects is up to date with current and projected trends within art, design and industry

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Highly creative and innovative, with a strong passion for design - a portfolio showcasing remarkable work

  • Work should demonstrate concept-driven design and should show experimentation, innovation, system thinking, and energy

  • Previous experience in an Art Director or Senior Designer position

  • At least 5 years industry experience - specifically focused on Experiential Design, events or a similar industry

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the event landscape

  • Excellent communication, literacy and presentation skills

  • Strong attention to detail & ability to deliver design work autonomously

  • Comfortable working as a team and confi dent to take part in workshops and interactions with clients

  • Clear hands-on and solution-oriented experience whilst maintaining a positive can-do attitude

  • Experience working in an agile working environment, and comfortable with a fl uid approach to work – easily adapting to change in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work fast, work to deadlines and manage time eff ectively

  • Knowledge of production process and budgets

  • High level of accountability

  • Receptiveness to feedback and adaptability
